UPDATE: New Details in Lebanon Shooting, Man Charged

LEBANON, Mo. - Lebanon Police Department have identified the man of interest in from a Lebanon shooting Tuesday evening.

Cashawn Ward Williams, 39, has been identified as the person of interest and has been charged with First Degree Murder but has not been located. LPD are actively searching for Williams.

Williams shot and killed Gary Don Peterson, 47 around 5:02 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Witnesses told investigators the incident followed an argument between the two over Peterson's involvement with Melanie-Rose McRoberts', who was in company with Williams'.

LPD is asking if anyone knows where Williams is to please contact the LPD at 417-532-3131 or the nearest law enforcement agency.


The Lebanon Police Department is actively investigating the homicide of a 47-year-old man from Lebanon, Missouri,

Around 5 p.m. Tuesday evening, the LPD responded to a call at 500 block of Sweet Street in Lebanon, Laclede County, Missouri regarding a verbal altercation between a 39-year-old and a 47 year-old man.

Officers were told that the 47-year-old man had been shot by the 39-year-old man who had left the scene.

The 47-year-old man was found lying in the roadway unresponsive.  He was later pronounced dead on scene.

A person of interest has been identified and the LPD is trying to locate this person.

The identity of the victim is being withheld until next of kin is notified.
