Doctors in Boston say patients with high fat-diets may show more signs of anxiety, depression and obsessive behavior than those with standard diets. But tests on lab mice revealed that the condition was reversed in mice taking antibiotics, which changed gut bacteria.  

And the more you lose, the more you win, say researchers looking at overweight people and knee problems. Previous data showed a 10-percent weight loss cut pain in half for patients with osteoarthritis. Now doctors say a 20-percent weight loss adds even more mobility, quality of life improvements plus another 25-percent reduction in pain. 

And a possible new approach in the treatment of cirrhosis of the liver. Doctors in Taiwan found three weeks on the drug Aleglitazar had promising results in lab rats, especially in reducing inflammation.
