Thursday, June 21 Overnight Forecast

Storm chance increase over the weekend --

Hope you enjoyed the official first day of Summer! Storm chances diminish overnight tonight, any storms that do pop up will remain east of Springfield, lows overnight tonight in the low 60s.  Wind gusts up 20 mph through the evening and into the morning hours.

Friday looks much like Thursday with highs near 80, isolated storm chances in the afternoon hours, but wind gusts around 10 mph as the low-pressure system to our north moves east.  Mostly dry and mostly sunny conditions for most of the day.  Overnight lows in the low to middle 60s.

Our next storm system comes through Saturday. Scattered showers and storms are likely Saturday morning. If the atmosphere can recover in the atmosphere and rebuild that fuel, or instability to grow thunderstorms, we could have a threat for severe weather. Stay tuned for updates on that.

Sunday storm chances are low with highs beginning to bounce back in the upper 80s.  Monday through Wednesday temperatures will slowly increase back into the 90s with chances of storms every day.
