TUSCUMBIA, Mo. -- A teacher at School of the Osage was arrested Wednesday evening and charged with sexual misconduct with students at the school.
Miller County Sheriff Louie Gregoire says his office was notified Wednesday of the allegations against Mark Alan Edwards and began collecting evidence related to the case.
Upon questioning Edwards, he admitted having inappropriate contact with students.
Edwards, 45, was arrested on suspicion of Statutory Sodomy and Sexual Contact with a Student. He is in custody on $300,000 bond. If he raises bond, the court has ordered he wear a GPS monitor and have no contact with victims or unsupervised contact with anyone under 18.

During the evening of April 18, 2018, the Miller County Sheriff's office was notified about allegations of misconduct between an Osage School teacher and a student. The children involved were interviewed by a forensic interviewer and with the cooperation and assistance of School of the Osage, investigators collected evidence directly related to this case.
The teacher was identified as Mark Alan Edwards. Mr. Edwards was interviewed at the Miller County Sheriff's office and provided an admission stating that he had inappropriate contact with students from School of the Osage. Mark Edwards is being charged with Statutory Sodomy in the 1st degree and a second charge of Sexual Contact with a student. Bond for Mr. Edwards has been set at $300,000.
Statutory Sodomy in the first degree is a Class A Felony and Sexual Contact with a student is a Class E Felony.
