Sheriff: Meth Bust May be Largest in County's History

AVA, Mo. -- Seven people are arrested and more than 1000 grams of methamphetamine is seized in a large drug bust in Douglas County.

Sheriff Chris Degase says it may be his department's largest methamphetamine seizures in the county's history.

Degase said a search warrant was served on Wednesday, July 12th, at a house on County Road 514 in Ava.  That's where seven people and over 100 grams of methamphetamine were seized, along with $5,800 in cash, two weapons and six towed vehicles.

In a press release, Degase said this is one of, if not the largest, meth seizure in Douglas County. Degase says the names of the arrested subjects will be released following the filing of formal charges.
