Prison Inmate Gets Away from Work Detail

HOWELL COUNTY, Mo. -- The Highway Patrol is hunting for a state prison inmate, who slipped away from a MoDOT work crew in Willow Springs this morning.

The Patrol says Jason Butler, 35,  is 5'6 inches t5all and 165 pounds with brown hair.

He was wearing a brown coat and gray prison uniform. 

People living in the Willow Springs area are being urged to make sure their keys are not left in their cars and keep their doors locked.

Butler was being held at the South Central Correctional Center in Licking, serving a 5 year sentence for possession of a controlled substance from Buchanan County.
