A woman was killed and a man was seriously injured early Tuesday morning following a fire on North Wickersham Ave. in Yellville, according to Keith Edmonds, Director of Emergency Management for Marion County.

A man living in a camper on the property went into the home to find out why power to the camper went out. The man discovered the wall where the breaker in the house was located was on fire.

The 911 call came in at 1:04 a.m. and the first fire truck arrived at 1:07 a.m. according to Edmonds who said when firefighters arrived, the front of the home was fully engulfed in flames, with fire coming out of the windows and the roof.

Yellville firefighters were joined by firefighters from Flippin, Summit and Ralph-Caney in battling the blaze. Firefighters spent 4.5 hours on scene, according to Edmonds.
