Oklahoma Woman Wins $50,000 From Scratcher While Traveling Through Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- An Oklahoma woman won $50,000 from a $3 Missouri Lottery scratcher while making a pitstop in Springfield during her trip to St. Louis.

Angelika Rodgers, of Durant, Oklahoma, stopped for lunch at a Pilot Travel Center on West Chesnut Street in Springfield and purchased the winning "Warm Winter Winnings" ticket, according to the release.

Rodgers said winning the top prize comes at a good time.

"I just paid my property taxes," Rodgers shared. "I bought the ticket hoping to get some of that money back."

Other than paying her property taxes, Rodgers plans to use some of the winnings to visit her mother in Sweden.

More than $3.9 million in prizes remain in the game, including two more top prizes of $50,000.
