UPDATE: Oil Tanker Accident On U.S. 65

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Mo. - Around 9:15 Tuesday morning, an oil tanker traveled off the right side of the roadway when it hit an embankment when the driver lost control.

The vehicle become airborne and landed on its side.

Driver, Preston P Eagles of Mount Vernon, Missouri is in serious condition at Cox South in Springfield.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Tuesday morning, an oil tanker went off of U.S. 65 and flipped on its side on the side of the road at mile marker 27.  

According to the Christian County Emergency Management Agency Facebook Page, U.S. 65 Southbound is currently down to one lane and will be for the next four to six hours.

It is still not clear what caused this accident.

There is no information on the driver's condition.
