JOPLIN, Mo. - Christopher Montz, 23, of Neosho has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and armed criminal action during his arraignment Thursday. Montz's next court date is set for June 27th.
Montz is accused of shooting and killing David Reynolds, 27, of Carthage, after the two pulled over to the shoulder of Route 249 in Joplin.
Reynolds was headed home after a day at the creek with his two young daughters and another adult passenger. Reynold's father says David was pulling over to let a Montz pass him on the interstate.
Montz followed him over to the shoulder, the pair got out of their cars and Montz allegedly shot Reynolds.
