STRAFFORD, Mo. -- Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed one person has died in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 44 Sunday.
The accident occurred near mile marker 87.4 at about 11:53 a.m. when a 2004 Chevrolet truck was traveling eastbound when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crossed the median cables into the westbound lanes of I-44 and struck a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox head-on, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.
William Dorlac, 39, of Springfield, was driving the Chevrolet truck when he lost control.
Deborah Coleman, 65, of Lebanon, Missouri, was the driver of the Chevrolet Equinox. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.
Both vehicles were totaled in the accident.
Dorlac was tested for alcohol, but the results of the test were not included in the report.
