BAXTER COUNTY, Ar. -- A scam alert in the Ozarks tonight.
The Baxter County Arkansas Sheriff's Office wants to make sure you know criminals are trying to trick you out of your money.
The sheriff's office says deputies have received calls about a new phone scam involving Medicare cards.
Scammers have been calling people, trying to get them to reveal information on their Medicare cards.
They then use that information to steal the victim's identity and commit fraud.
The sheriff's office says some of these callers can be aggressive. But the most important takeaway here -- never give away personal information over the phone.
