MARIES COUNTY, Mo. – The Maries County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle in the early hours of Saturday morning that resulted in a man being arrested for taking two individuals against their will.

Michael Munson, 47, was stopped on Highway 63 and Route AA near Vienna. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the female passenger and her juvenile daughter had been taken against their will from their home in Springfield.

It was also determined the passenger had been assaulted.

Munson is being held in Maries County Jail pending warrants. Munson is a convicted felon. More charges are expected to come.
