SPRINGFIELD — The Queen City Beard and Moustache Federation held their 10th annual competition tonight

It was called “May The Fourth Be Bearded” and guys strutted their best beard and mustache styles at University Plaza, all hoping to take home the title of Best Beard.

There were 13 different categories this year including kids and the “Women’s Wiskerina”.

The competition ran until 10 tonight and it was immediately followed by an 80’s themed dance party.

The money raised will benefit gathering friends for the homeless who work to help support those who live with no home.

“There always is a stigma attached to being homeless like you an addict you know there is things that you have done that people push them off to the side and there is a lot of people in this area that really do care,” said Justin Bolin, with the Queen City Beard and Mustache Federation.

“We appreciate any organization that does something in Springfield for a charity or is a charity themselves. Just everybody… If everybody just lifts a little bit the weight is going to be less,” said Jennifer Cannon, with Gathering Friends for the Homeless.

Our very own mustache legend Tom Trtan was on the panel of judges.

If you missed out this year, start growing out your beard now, there is always next year.
