CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Mo. -- National Weather Service officials and fire crews in Christian County say a brief lightning storm early Thursday morning is to blame for two house fire in the Fremont Hills area.
The strikes happened about 5:00 a.m. No one was injured in either fire. The Ozark Fire Protection District sent crews to both fires.
The Weather Service says of the two homes were struck by lightning, one received significant damage to the roof and interior of the home. The second home had minor damage.
Dave and Carol Damanskis own the house most heavily damaged, in the 700 block of Briar Ridge Court south of Fremont Hills. They were allowed to return to their home to look at the damage after fire crews cleared the scene.
