SPRINGFIELD, Mo.–Springfield officially has a new mayor.
Ken McClure was sworn in at noon Tuesday. He won the seat last week in a race with council woman Kristi Fulnecky.
Fulnecky will stay on the council for at least two more years.
McClure was already mayor protem.
Five additional City Council members joined McClure in retaking their oaths of office.
McClure is the 18th mayor of Springfield since the city charter was adopted in 1953.
