REEDS SPRING, Mo. — David Fly was murdered in Reeds Spring, Missouri back in 1988.

Investigators say Fly was shot to death near Kimberling City, Missouri in late April of 1988.  The Missouri Highway Patrol has confirmed they have re-opened the investigation into his death.

Officers with the Pierce City Police Department say their town is connected to the case, with Fly having lived in the community for several years after marrying his wife, who grew up there.

They say Fly was a kind man, and that although it’s been 30 years since his death, that doesn’t mean it isn’t still important to bring those responsible to justice.

“It’s important for the family, his family and his friends that they should have closure, or have somebody to blame for that,” said Pierce City police Chief Mike Abramovitz.

Anyone with information about Fly’s death is being asked to contact Missouri Highway Patrol Troop D headquarters at 417-895-6868.
