Hours Long Standoff in Springfield Ends Without Incident

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - A standoff in Springfield this afternoon ended without incident on N. Benton St. and Atlantic Avenue.

At approximately 11 a.m., Springfield police responded to the house to question a suspect for criminal activity in southeast Missouri and serve a probation violation warrant. The suspect wouldn't come out of the house so police surrounded the house.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Jason Pace, the standoff ended at 3:25 p.m. without further incident. The suspect surrendered to Springfield SWAT and was taken into custody.

The suspect is being held in the Greene County Jail with no bond.
