Hail, Power Outages, Funnel Cloud Reports in Latest SWMO Storms

SOUTHWEST MISSOURI -- It was a raucous night of weather across southern Missouri and northern Arkansas with severe storms dumping large hail in several counties.

The National Weather Service had nearly 120 reports of hail in southwest Missouri, ranging from pea size to tennis and baseball sized hail.

The photo above was sent to KOLR10 by Cheyenne Foster, of a hail stone nearly the size of a tennis ball that fell in Stotts City in Lawrence County.

Social medial users also reported baseball sized hail in Vernon and Newton Counties, with reports of damage to cars in Wentworth, Missouri.

Hail damaged at least one house in Stone County.  The Central Crossing Fire Protection District in Shell Knob says a house on Scenic View lost several windows to hail.
Other homes reported damage to roofs and siding.

There were unconfirmed reports of funnel clouds in Forsyth in Taney County and Aurora in Lawrence County.  The National Weather Service has not yet confirmed either.

Power was out for hundreds of people on the east side of Cabool for several hours last night.   And trees and tree limbs were brought down across the region due to high wind and hail.

There have been no reports of anyone being injured.
