SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Groups unhappy with representation from Sen. Roy Blunt plan protests in Springfield Friday and Saturday.
People opposed to Blunt’s vote to confirm Scott Pruitt as Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency plan to bge outside Blunt’s Springfield office at noon today.
Representatives from the organization “Moms Clean Air Force” say; “Pruitts’ career has been spent undermining the agency he’s chosen to lead,” noting Pruitt sued the EPA to stop vital protections for public health. Members of the White River Chapter of the Sierra Club and people who live around an EPA Superfund site near Republic also plan to take part in the process.
Saturday, another group protesting the elimination of the Affordable Care Act plan to confront Blunt at a GOP gathering in Springfield. They plan a “Save Our Care” rally at University Plaza Hotel at 7:00 a.m.
A number of Republican Senators and Congressmen have held Town Hall meetings in their states during the spring recess. Many of them have been contentious. Blunt has not scheduled a Town Hall meeting in Springfield.
