Genealogy Seminar Held, Experts Available for Consultation

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - If you've ever wondered about your family history, you might want to take advantage a genealogy seminar in Springfield this weekend.

"Where did you get that nose?" is taking place at the Library Center this weekend.

It's hosted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Archivists and analysts from Missouri State Archives will be giving presentations about finding family records.

Experts are also on hand for one-on-one genealogy consultation.

"Churchill said, famously said, 'The only thing we learn from history is we don't learn from history,' and if we could go through and learn about our ancestors and what they did right and what they did wrong, it gives us a sense of who we are and what our potential can be," Dale Sargent, a genealogy seminar volunteer, said.

The seminar is free to the public, but registration is required.
