SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A former Greene County Sheriff’s deputy is charged with child molestation and attempted rape of a person under the age of 14 along with several other charges.
Court documents show Joe Newlon, 55, is being held in the Greene County jail on $150,000 bond.
A spokeswoman for the Greene County Sheriff’s Office tells KOLR10 that Newlon worked as a deputy in at least two areas during the 1980s and early 1990s.
