VERNON COUNTY, Mo. -- If you live near Little Osage River or Marmaton River, the National Weather Service says to watch out for flooding.
They issued a flood warning Sunday morning for the two rivers that could affect Vernon County. According to the NWS report, heavy rainfall will cause the rivers to flood.
For the Little Osage River, minor flooding is expected to end by Tuesday morning. It will impact low lying areas along the river, including farmland.
The Marmaton River is also predicted to have minor flooding. It should fall below flood stage by midnight on Wednesday and is expected to only impact the county road west of Nevada at the gage site.
The NWS says those who have property and livestock near the rivers should watch the conditions.
