SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Fantastic Fridays are back with the Springfield-Greene County Library District.
Today kids and their parents were invited to Grant Beach Park in the Railroad Historical Museum.
Fantastic Fridays kicks off the summer reading program.
Every Friday morning in June, library staff will bring the mobile library to a different site in Greene County.
Early Literacy Specialist Stephanie Smallwood says there's story time and fun.
"One of the greatest things, I think, about doing Fantastic Fridays in different places is bringing real-life experience to a lot of kids and families," Smallwood said. "Here at the railroad museum they actually get to get on a train that was actually running. They get to learn all of these amazing historical things, and that's the way it is at all of the sites we go to."
The next Fantastic Friday will be next Friday at the Springfield Botanical Center.
