Family Safe after House Fire in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo-  Springfield Fire crews were sent to the scene of a house fire Thursday morning at the 2700 block of McCann ave.

Crews were sent to the scene around 10:30 after hearing a report of a house fire. According to Springfield Fire Battalion Chief  Heith Aldridge, three people were home, a mom, dad, and their daughter.

Chief Aldridge said the family was sitting in the house when they heard their fire alarms go off but could not smell or see smoke. He went on to tell KOLR10, that the family went outside and saw flames coming out of the roof.

The Fire Marshall on scene says the cause of the fire was most likely electrical and that the house is not a total loss.

There were a couple fire crews on scene to switch shifts battling the fire in the heat.
