EGYPT — Missouri’s rice producers could have a new export market.

KOLR10’s Partners at Missourinet announce Egypt is interested in buying Missouri’s unmilled rice.

This is according to the Missouri Rice Council and U.S. rice producers.

Water shortages overseas have led to a complete lack of rice growth in the African country.

And, southeast Missouri is a major producer of medium grain rice, which Egypt prefers.
