LEBANON, Mo.- Commercial Street in Lebanon is looking more clear after city crews removed several trees lining the streets.  It happened Sunday.  The tree removal project is first in a series of steps to improve downtown.  The Downtown Business District Advisory Board decided to remove the trees due to disease, sidewalk damage, blocking of light from street lights and damage to business awnings.

Michael Schumacher is city administrator.  “The Downtown Business District Advisory Board is meeting regularly and looking at ways to improve downtown Lebanon,” he says. “The board members are downtown business owners who are dedicated to seeing downtown Lebanon grow and thrive.”
