Deputy Pleads Not Guilty to Child-Sex Charges

MARSHFIELD, Mo. -- A Webster County deputy accused of child molestation pleaded not guilty today (1/16/08) and is to have a preliminary hearing on charges onj March 2, 2018.

Brent Grey, 50, of Marshfield, was arrested last week after the Greene County Department of Social Service's Children's Division received a hotline call Jan. 8 pertaining to allegations of child molestation against Grey.

The allegations were made by a juvenile female, according to the Webster County probable cause statement.

In the allegation made by the female, she said Grey would touch and massage her when she was 10 or 11 years old. She also said Grey made her touch his genitals.

According to a probable cause statement, the female's statements have been consistent and were made to between three and four other people before the start of the investigation.

Grey was terminated from his position with the Webster County Sheriff's Office, according to a Webster County Sheriff's Office press release and is charged with statutory sodomy. He is currently free on $50,000 bond.
