CLINTON, Mo. – A dog attack sends two workers at an animal shelter in Clinton to the hospital.

Clinton police say they were called to the Clinton Animal Shelter just before 1 p.m. Friday, where they found two victims with bite wounds to the neck and face.

The attack happened when the large dog slipped out of its collar and attacked the woman handler.

Another worker heard what was going on and intervened.

That’s when he was attacked.

After hearing the commotion and seeing the dog latched on to man’s neck, a bystander used his pistol to shoot the dog.

The workers were taken by ambulance to the hospital with serious injuries.
