Branson Seat Belt Ordinance Passes

BRANSON, Mo.-- The Branson Board of Alderman passed a city ordinance Tuesday making it a primary violation to not wear a seat belt.

That means you can get pulled over by law enforcement simply for not wearing a safety belt.

The ordinance will go into effect May 1.

It was a tie vote with Kevin McConnell, Betsy Seay, and Rick Castillon voting no while Mayor Best broke the tie with a yes vote.

As a state law, Missourians cannot be pulled over specifically for not wearing a seat belt.
