Blues win Stanley Cup, Springfield Goes Crazy

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The St. Louis Blues win the title, and people in downtown Springfield are ready to party.

In January, the Blues were in last place. They fired their coach, benched the starting goalie, and now they're Stanley Cup champions.

The influence on the Blues amazing run to the Stanley Cup had trickled down to the youth as well.

Al Valdivia has been the hockey director at Jordan Valley Ice Park for nearly 20 years, and says his "learn to play hockey" program has spiked. He believes the Blues success has had a lot to do with it.

In this story, you'll hear from him, as well as a couple youngsters - Peter Gale and Isabella Linville - who are big Blues fans.

Of course, KOLR10's Jesse Inman was on hand to capture all the madness from the Stanley Cup celebration at Falstaff's local.
