CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo- The Camden County Sheriff’s Office has been notified and has started an investigation of allegations of criminal behavior by employees of the Camden County government.
According to the release, the sheriff’s office states that local media have publicly released some documents supporting the allegations. Lake News Online released the information that a computer breach prompted the investigation.
Commissioner Greg Hasty told Lake News that someone tampered with a courthouse computer that was used to store emails from him. Associate Commissioner Cliff Luber and Associate Commissioner Bev Thomas. According to Hasty the computers hard drive is now empty.
The sheriff’s are in the preliminary stages of the investigation and will not comment or reveal details that may jeopardize the investigation. They have considered the possibilty of asking for assistance from the investigative division of the Missouri State Highway Patrol to avoid any possible conflicts of interest.
