"America's Fun Park" Opening This Week in Branson

BRANSON, Mo. -- "America's Fun Park," off the Branson Strip, was built on the spot where the old Branson Heights Shopping Center used to be. The area was destroyed after a tornado ripped through the strip six years ago.

The park was set to open last month, but did not. There was also a park opening set for last week, but it was not quite ready. However, anxious amusement park lovers will wait no more. America's Fun Park with all of the amusement park trimmings will open on Thursday.

Jason Reynolds, Park Manager, says they just wanted to get everything right, so that people would have a great time.

"Well, putting the pieces together has probably been the most challenging," Reynolds said, "Getting all the right people in place, as well as getting the rides up and going. Finding the right place for them. Just coming together mighty quick, you know. I think the first ride went down March 6th. So, here we are June that correct? June 7th -- and we got stuff ready to rock and roll here."

A special ribbon cutting for the park will be held on June 15th.
