SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A better quality of life in northwest Springfield was the goal of a Zone 1 community meeting held in Springfield Saturday.
The meeting, called “Zone 1 Connect,” was prompted by the listening tour held in May– when key areas of concern were identified– like high rates of poverty, poor health and crime.
Since May, more than 160 organizations have partnered with the city’s initiative to improve the northwest quadrant.
Saturday, Zone 1 residents had the chance to hear potential solutions and provide feedback.
The initiative, known as Zone Blitz, will officially launch on March 1.
