Woman Drowns in Eureka Springs Tubing in Flood

EUREKA SPRINGS, Ark. – A 24-year-old woman died overnight from drowning on Main Street in Eureka Springs.

According to fire chief Nick Samac, the woman was tubing down Leatherback Creek out near Main Street in the flooded waters. Her friends quickly called 911 when the woman went under at about 9:30 p.m Saturday night. Search and recovery efforts continued in the storms until 2 a.m.

Search and recovery crews recovered the woman’s body at 7:30 a.m.

The woman’s name has not been released due to notification of the family.
