Woman, Child Escape House Explosion in Camdenton

CAMDENTON, Mo. — Mid-County Fire Protection District was dispatched to a duplex explosion and fire on Monday morning, July 23.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in approximately 30 minutes, according to a MCFPD Facebook post.

A woman and a child were inside the duplex when the fire broke out, but were able to escape before firefighters arrived.

The woman had serious burns and transferred to Lake Regional Hospital by ambulance, then flown to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

The child did not have any reported injuries.

Missouri State Fire Marshal and the MCFPD Fire Marshal are investigating the fire.
