With Hillcrest principal exit, SPS to see leadership change at 3 of 5 high schools

News

SPRINGFIELD (News-Leader) – The Springfield district is searching for a new principal at Hillcrest High School.

Garry Moore’s departure, confirmed Monday by Springfield Public Schools, means three of the district’s five high schools will have new leadership for the 2019-20 year.

It is unusual, but not unprecedented, for a principal vacancy to be announced this late in a school year. Few details regarding Moore’s upcoming exit have been made public but his current employment contract runs through June 30.

Glendale High principal Natalie Cauldwell announced plans to retire in late 2018 and her replacement, Josh Groves, has already been named. In February, Central High principal Lisa Anderson made public her plan to step down to seek an assistant principal post and the search for her replacement is ongoing.
