Wilson’s Creek raises enough money for renovation for visitor center

REPUBLIC, Mo. – Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield has raised enough money for a 1 million dollar renovation of its visitor center.

Last March, the park asked for help from local businesses and foundations and now, two months later, it has the money.

Next week, the park will celebrate the expansion and recent purchase of some nearby land, that Civil War troops marched on.

Summer visiting hours were also released.

The center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Tour road hours are extended to 9 p.m.
