After an active severe weather day, severe weather is possible again today —
NWS will be out with multiple survey teams today working to track many areas of damage. 7 non-confirmed tornadoes are on their list so far. Today, severe weather is possible again.
We have a Marginal Risk of severe weather for today.
The heavy rain that is leftover from last night is exiting southeast by mid-morning, early afternoon. We could have a lull of just some clouds and warm, muggy 70’s later on today.
That could allow the front to shift back into the Ozarks and enough heat/ humidity to fuel more strong to severe storms.
For now, the most likely scenario is an isolated damaging wind/ large hail threat later this evening/ overnight. If we can build enough juice in the atmosphere after yesterday’s active day, an isolated tornado could be possible as severe storms become more widespread. Stay weather aware, Jamie will need to update this forecast tonight.
FLASH FLOOD WATCH remains and AREAL FLOOD WARNINGS are in effect as residual flooding and additional rain will create a flood hazard. Many water rescues have taken place overnight, NEVER drive through a flooded roadway!
The front continues to linger southeast tomorrow, bringing another chance for storms and possibly an isolated severe threat. Temperatures stay in the 70’s.
We hold on to a few showers on Friday before drying out this weekend. It now looks like both Saturday and Sunday will be dry with unsettled weather returning late Monday into Tuesday.
