AUSTRALIA — A kangaroo struggling in waters of Safety Beach was rescued by police responding to calls for help in Victoria, Australia on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Video shared with Reuters showed police dragging the kangaroo back to shore.
Mia Grant, who filmed the video, told Reuters that two people had tried to save the kangaroo and brought it onto shore but the marsupial hopped back into the water.
Victoria Police said in a statement the report of the swimming kangaroo came in around 5 p.m. local time. The kangaroo was later been brought to the Rosdebud Police Station to be assessed by a local wildlife centre.
