Virginia High School Students Feed The Homeless

Va. — A group of Virginia high school students came together to feed the homeless Friday.

250 kids from Cox High School in Virginia Beach lined up to crank out bagged lunches, assembly-line-style.

They made 1,624 in just 24 minutes!

It’s called “hashtag-lunch bag” event and they do it every year.

Students from eight different school organizations compete to see who can make the most lunches in the specified time.

Community sponsors donated the bread, turkey, chips, fruit and bottled water.

The students also included notes of encouragement in the bags, with messages like “hang in there” and “you’re awesome.”

All lunches were given to the union mission and the Judeo-Christian outreach center.
