SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Sunday is Mother’s Day.
It’s a time to show mom just how much she’s appreciated.
Flower shops have been working overtime.
More people purchase fresh flowers and plants for Mother’s Day than for any other holiday except Christmas and Hanukkah.
The National Retail Federation estimates that US customers will spend a record of more than 23 billion dollars celebrating Mother’s Day this year.
In addition to flowers, the NRF says most give cards, jewelry or take mom out to eat.
