UPDATE: Police identify motorcyclist who died in crash Thursday morning in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. UPDATE: Springfield Police Department has released the name of the motorcyclist who died.

Justin Jenson, 30, of Springfield was traveling southbound on Kansas Expressway and died at the scene.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A motorcyclist died Thursday morning after collided with a car in Springfield.

Lt. Robert Byrne with the Springfield Police Department told KOLR10 a motorcycle crashed into a car that was turning onto Kansas Expressway and was ejected from the motorcycle.

The motorcycle also caught fire after the crash. The cause of the fire has not been determined.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead on the scene and the identity of the motorcyclist has not been released yet.

The driver of the car escaped with no injuries.
