KIRBYVILLE, Mo. — First responders from across the Ozarks worked through the night battling a warehouse fire in Taney County.
It happened about 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the Victorian Heart Warehouse on Highway 76 a few miles east of Branson. The company employs around 50 people and specializes in textiles like pillows and bedding.
Smoke continued to pour out of the building hours after the fire started.
Jeff Romines, training officer for the Central Taney County Fire Protection District says help was called in from as far away as Greene County.
“Basically they’re bringing the man power, it’s a hard hot fire and it’s a lot of work. We’ve got a pretty good stop on it but unfortunately it’s pretty much all the way through the building. Just again, because the fire load is so great in there and the heat and fire — just extent and the spread — you just can’t stop it.”
There were no injuries and the cause is under investigation.
In August, another large employer in Taney County, National Enzyme Company, lost a building of similar size to fire.
