University of Arkansas QB Cole Kelley Arrested for DWI

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — University of Arkansas Quarterback Cole Kelley has been arrested on suspicion of DWI and reckless driving.

Cole Kelley was pulled over at 4:00 a.m. and taken into custody about 15 minutes later.

The arresting officer says he observed a black Toyota Tundra strike the curb, with both passenger wheels going on top of the curb.

The vehicle was pulled over at Wedington and Colorado Street. 

The officer reports making contact with Kelley and says his eyes were red and watery.

Kelley failed the field sobriety tests and declined providing the sample for a portable breath test.

He was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he was processed.

He provided a urine sample at the Detention Center

According to jail records, he was booked around 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

Head Coach Bret Bielema released a statement saying, “I was informed early this morning of an incident involving Coley Kelley.  We are gathering all information from the proper authorities and will make a determination upon review of that information.”

Cole Kelley is set to appear in court on December 15th.
