SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – United Way of the Ozarks held it’s annual meeting Wednesday giving a big thank you to the community but also acknowledging some major challenges.
Several local groups were recognized as Pillar Award Winners, meaning they are an individual, organization or agency that sustains a culture of helping United Way.
This year’s winners include the John Deere Company, Nami, and Police Chief Paul Williams.
The outgoing United Way Board Director, Brad Crain says there’s no shortage of need in the Ozarks.
The CEO of United Way, Debi Meeds said last August they announced a fundraising goal of three million and they fell short of that by $500,000.
