Two Arrests Made in Stolen Vehicle, Abduction of Infant

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Police in Ozark arrest two people in connection to stealing a car with a baby inside from a Rogersville gas station last week.

One of those suspects has been identified as  Waite Aaron Showalter, 37.
He’s been booked into the for kidnapping and tampering.
The other suspect has not been identified.

The 5-month-old baby was left in a running car outside the Kum n Go in Rogersville last Wednesday night (Jan 3).

Authorities were able to find the baby safe, in the abandoned vehicle, within 43 minutes of the Amber Alert.

Ozark police say its officers, along with Greene County and Christian County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 1200 block of East Lily Drive where they believed a suspect in the case was staying.  Showalter and the other suspect were arrested there.
