Spotty storms possible today and tomorrow —

Our high pressure from yesterday is shifting east as a warm front noses towards the Ozarks. As a warm, more humid air mass surges into the Ozarks with this front, spotty showers/ thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon. One or two of those storms could pack marginally severe wind/ hail with gusts to 60 mph and quarter size hail.

Otherwise, expect mostly sunny skies with warm highs in the middle and upper 70’s.

Tonight, the warm front will sit to the northeast and could be the focus for redeveloping storms overnight. Those storms will carry the risk of locally heavy rain and lightning.

Lows stay warm in the lower 60’s.

Tomorrow we’ll ride the front and northwest flow in the jet stream, or path of storminess, one more day. That will leave us with another chance for spotty showers/ thunderstorms, especially tucked northeast near the front. Marginally severe wind/ hail will be possible again with any storms that develop.

South and west winds continue to surge a warm and humid air mass into the Ozarks. Coupled with mostly sunny skies, highs on Wednesday shoot into the lowe 80’s with sticky dew points in the 60’s.

By Thursday the front exits northeast sending an area of high pressure into the Ozarks. This will give way to mostly sunny skies and steady south winds, highs soar into the middle 80’s.

Southerly winds start to pick up on Friday, keeping highs in the middle 80’s under mostly sunny skies.

A stronger cold front sets up late Saturday. For now, it looks like most of the afternoon stays dry with warm lower 80’s. Showers/ thunderstorms become likely late in the evening/ overnight with a frontal passage.

Showers could linger early on Sunday with clearing in the afternoon and highs still running above average.
