Springfield, MO Weather Forecast - Hourly & 7 Day

Another hot & humid day today, storms arrive overnight —

Summertime high pressure keeps its grasp on the Ozarks for one more day.

South winds ahead of the front and behind the high pressure will be breezy, gusts to 30 mph this afternoon. Much like yesterday, it will be mostly sunny, hot, and humid. Highs pop into the lower 90’s area-wide, 93 in Springfield will feel like 100 degrees.

A cold front approaches tonight. Showers/ storms should make it to the northern Ozarks (central MO) by 10 PM – 12 AM. For those to the north, as storms arrive, one or two could be strong to severe with the threat of damaging winds and large hail. Locally heavy rain will be likely.

Lows stay warm again tonight, dropping into the lower 70’s.

Scattered showers/ storms continue to push towards the Springfield metro by sunrise. We’ll keep that storm chance likely through the afternoon.

A Marginal Risk is posted for much of the area on Wednesday, mainly along and south of I-44. There, there will be enough fuel for storms to pop isolated strong/ severe storms in the afternoon. Threats remain the same: damaging winds and large hail. The atmosphere is also soaked, so locally heavy rain will be likely in any strong storms.

Due to the clouds, storms, and a north wind shift, highs will be much cooler on Wednesday only getting into the middle 80’s.

The front stalls to the south on Thursday so we’ll keep a chance of scattered showers/ storms with highs in the upper 80’s.

The pattern turns unsettled Friday and Saturday with a few weak upper-level disturbances passing through the Ozarks. This will keep a small storm chance those days, but I do not expect it to be widespread. Highs stay seasonal in the upper 80’s.

By Sunday and Monday, as we wrap up the holiday weekend, the path of storminess shifts a bit north. While a storm cannot be ruled out, most stay dry. Highs continue to flirt with 90 degrees.
