MALVERN, Ark. – A tractor-trailer was engulfed in flames Sunday morning on Interstate 30 in Arkansas.
The tractor-trailer was hauling beer bottles and kegs on I-30 when the Southwest Rural Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call about a “fully involved” fire, according to the department’s Facebook page.
No one was injured in the fire. The driver was able to quickly detach the truck from the trailer.
The fire appeared to originate from the brakes on the trailer, according to the department.
After arriving on the scene, the department requested help from the Ouachita Fire Department for more manpower.
The department said in the post that the crews were quick to put out the fire, but the tractor-trailer did not withstand the fire.
A wrecking service and state police were also at the scene to manage the incident and clean up the resulting mess, according to the post.
In the post the department thanked Ouachita Fire Department, Hot Spring County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas State Police, and Tanners Towing and Recovery for their assistance.
